Rangers vs Celtic

The last decade was very tough for Rangers fans as they have been waiting for the title since 2011. They even saw their favorite team collapsing to League Two and struggling with debts due to poor leadership at that time. However, they managed to consolidate and get back to Premiership in the 2016/17 season. Nevertheless, the Gers haven’t been competitive in the title battle, and Celtic managed to keep the trophy on their shelves without any trouble. But, Steven Gerard has been building a squad that can get back on the top, and it seems this could be The season. Alfredo Morelos and the lads are the only undefeated team in the competition, and they missed the chance to win just twice in 21 rounds played so far. Although the Colombian international hasn’t been as efficient as in the previous campaigns, his teammates have been very productive. James Tavernier netted an impressive 11 goals, which make him the most efficient right-back in Europe. Rangers are 16 points ahead of their fierce rivals, although Celtic has three games in hand. Gerard’s side conceded only five times, and although they got eliminated from the Betfred Cup, the hosts can be delighted how things have been going for them so far. Rangers also secured a place in the Europa League knockout stage, and with a potential victory in this game, they would be very close to the title.
On the other hand, this has been the worst season for Celtic in the past ten years. The away side got eliminated from the Champions League qualifiers by the Hungarian side Ferencvaros, and that game just announced their troubles. Although Celtic lost only once in the Premiership, they spilled too many points in draw matches. Their continental campaign was a disaster, as they finished at the bottom in the Europa League group stage. Everything culminated after a 2:0 defeat against Ross County in Betfred Cup, but Neil Lennon remained as Celtic manager despite fans’ protests. The visitors improved a bit lately, and they tied four victories in a row. They managed to keep the clean sheet in the past four Premiership rounds, and they need a perfect display to pick up a win and remain in the title race.

Full-Time Winner Odds & Prediction

Every Old Firm is a story for itself, and this one won’t lack excitement. This is one of the strongest rivalries in the world, and the stake is always high. Although these games are very hard to predict, we believe Rangers are slight favorites, and they will celebrate a priceless victory.

Goals Market Prediction

In their last eight head-to-head clashes, football fans could see more than two goals just twice. Since both sides have been very tight in the back lately, and they shouldn’t risk too much, this should also stay under a 2.5 margin.
Rangers to win @ 1.75
Under 2.5 FT @ 1.55
Correct score 1:0 @ 9.50

I turned Ross County into a team full of Ross' - Part 3

I turned Ross County into a team full of Ross' - Part 3
Link to Part 1 / 2
Thanks again for the support, interactions have been different class on here and on Twitter. I hope to break down the season into 6 parts and write it up before the end of the month. Anyway, here we go.. again.

We'll Follow Near and Far
An Upward Spiral?
After defeat at Dens against Dundee in the Betfred Cup quarter final, the focus shifted back to the league and a home game against Kilmarnock. The game presented an opportunity to kick on and try get us those crucial points to help us climb the league, safety seems like the best we can hope for currently and delivering that would be a success in my book. The game comes just 4 days after the midweek tie but for the most part it's my strongest team, however our goalkeeping situation is still a strange one as Ross Wilson (Ross 13) and Grant Ross (Ross 50) interchange through games as I decide who will cover Ross Laidlaw until February.
The game is one of the most negative I've ever played out, but we keep our discipline and limit Kilmarnock to just 5 shots, with the end of the game in sight I'm happy with a point until Ross Stewart (Ross 10) gets bundled over in the box. Ross Millen (Ross 2) steps up, and slots it home. We win it in the 93rd minute and take 3 points from a team who played in Europe just a month before. Scenes ensue.

https://preview.redd.it/gjqyv44srxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=493dd2b193b22e307b2ca4432321e33be5e87370
We follow this up by playing Hearts at home, another top team in the league (on FM) who give us a battering but we somehow managed to draw 1-1 as Ross McCormack ends his league goal drought in the 39th minute. A very positive result considering the team we were up against.

https://preview.redd.it/qe6184jtrxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=a72ccebfd0964db9d665d25a4a1fd1ca91977109
The next couple games, I'm not going to go too in-depth with them, we play Livingston away and lose 0-1, not the worst result for me. Then we play Rangers at Ibrox and our arses just about collapse, we get hammered 5-0 with every goal coming in the first half. The league leaders blitzed us in the first half then felt sorry for us, you've got to hold your hands and admit that some teams that don't buy players based on whether they have the 783rd most common boys name in England, might just be a bit better than you. The result means another £8000 refund to the fans that travelled from up North.

https://preview.redd.it/qa74w8purxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bca00d19c00b4a916e92a34b211ba7217a9cc5fe
This is where the real fun begins
Even though we've conceded 6 goals in 2 games and pick up 0 points, we lie 11th and above Hamilton, level on points with St .Mirren. We're getting a full week to recover constantly, it helps me to rely on my key players more often and we've seemed to pick up form as we become more familiarised with the league and the team bonds together, likely because they've started to learn each other's names.
We then have Motherwell at home, another team with European aspirations, as we look to put a dent in them. The first half is largely boring, something we've become accustomed to in Dingwall, as we drain the energy out of everyone at the Global Energy stadium. In the second half though, Ross McCormack decides he can't be bothered passing or dribbling to anyone so he unleashes an absolute whirl-winder into the top corner and puts us 1 up, before Frank Ross (Ross 8) scores a lovely finish to wrap up a 2-0 win and dumps the Steelmen down the Well.

https://preview.redd.it/w28wdfdwrxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=bdffeaac66912e5fd75e19875ce83b02510eab9f
Next up is a trip to Perth to play St. Johnstone, and it's the biggest shithouse you've ever seen. Ross Davidson (Ross 18) scores a belter after 30 seconds and we Park The Absolute Bus for the rest of the game. With 1 shot and 43% possession, we run out 1-0 winners in true FM fashion. Unreal.

https://preview.redd.it/ur21lcexrxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=c578db093dc5ad85bea8ad022bfc466408646cfa
We're back at home to Hamilton, they make the long journey from near Lanark and we actually decide to play 4-4-2 and take the game to them. It's an extremely even game until Ross Matthews (Ross 7) volleys home to give us the lead and we hold it, winning 1-0 against a relegation rival, a massive win.

https://preview.redd.it/x7vk4y7yrxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=f78fd025c0b52b5ed49c8995331c5c85f0cc27f4
We follow this up with a 1-3 loss to Aberdeen, nothing special to report here, we lose to a good side at home. After this we get Queen of the South in the Scottish Cup, not a priority but a good draw none-the-less.

https://preview.redd.it/igv07066sxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=fd43e011b8585d92df2348602cf59caf60c08a86
We Go Again
It makes for good reading.
https://preview.redd.it/ykjxxq7msxh51.jpg?width=1920&format=pjpg&auto=webp&s=2869e04a3da9956247ca9edb1a0d502668924c1a
So, it's mostly positive, some great results leading up to December before we play game after game before the new year. 3 wins on the bounce in the league, 4 goals scored and 0 conceded is a pretty special achievement for this team considering. We have to play Hibs, Celtic, Rangers and Hearts all before the end of the year but I'm more confident than ever that we can take points off any team in the league now that we've got up to 7th.
While I'm managing Ross County, I'm a Rangers fan at heart, and I can only imagine after beating Hamilton at home and winning 3 in a row Boss Ross must've had a similar reaction to one of my favourite ever players in one of my favourite ever games..

Stay tuned for part 4, the Christmas period..

An update...

Hello, it’s the Hearts guy from last week? Yeah, THAT guy, sorry yeah I’m back. Well, I bring you an update after completing my second season in charge at Tynecastle. Don’t think there’s much else so here we go, sorry if it’s long.
First we’ll touch on our season’s achievements. We finished 3rd once again, a good 12 points off Rangers in 2nd, however I’m not complaining since we were one round from Europa League qualification, losing 6-3 on aggregate to Sporting Lisbon. We were knocked out in the Quarter Finals of the Betfred Cup but the crowing moment of the season was the 3-2 AET victory over Rangers in the Scottish Cup, sacking Gary MacAllister in the process and earning Hearts their first piece of silverware since the Championship victory in 2015.
So a very eventful year in Edinburgh, if I’ve missed anything or if there’s anything you’d like to see from me, please let me know and I’m happy to try and oblige! Thank you so much for last week’s support, it was heartwarming to see the advice and discussions! Here’s to another strong season, c’mon the Jambos!

Fitba Roundup: SPFL Gameweek 10/11/12

As the Scottish League Cup Semi-Finals threw the entire fixture list out of whack, my reckless decision to title the first of these posts with reference to the current gameweek caught up with me.
I also had the disastrous idea to summarise every fixture of the last two weeks, rather than just the three fixtures played during gameweek 10, and as such was blindsided by the great /soccer flair apocalypse, during which my beloved soccerbot was taken from me, making this whole thing very difficult and time-consuming to put together.
True to form, the high drama of the subreddit was matched by a whirlwind of baw-grabbing, coin-throwing, and general bampot behaviour across the Scottish Professional Football League.
Without further ado, here is a blow-by-blow of the last fortnight. Please bask in my artistic endeavours as I attempt to cope without flairs.

Tuesday 23/10/18

Scottish Premiership

Dundee 0 - 3 Heart of Midlothian
I’m going to make an effort to be succinct with these because we’ve a lot to get through, but what must be made clear is that Dundee are just as rotten under Jim McIntyre as they were under Neil McCann. The most valuable thing they have contributed this season is the glimmer of hope they’ve given St Mirren.
Calvin Miller’s horrendous penalty effectively summarises their season so far. That followed a nice free-kick from Oliver Bozanic, and a tap-in from the BADWORD goal machine that is Steven Naismith. Steven MacLean’s goal scored 21 seconds after half-time compounded Dundee’s misery.
Highlights.

Saturday 27/10/18

Scottish Premiership

Kilmarnock 1 - 1 Hamilton Academical
If you were to hear the words “El Plastico” you might assume that one of City, PSG, Chelsea etc. would be involved, but Kilmarnock - Hamilton really dwarves any such rivalries. This is the battle between the two hosts of the best-established top-flight artificial pitches in Scotland. Buckle up.
Hamilton’s youth may have edged past FC Basel in Europe, but their senior team couldn’t find a winner against a Kilmarnock side that had won their last 4.
In the end, Steven Boyd was sent off. Before the end, Dougie Imrie seemed to put Hamilton ahead, before a tidy Rory McKenzie finish cancelled it out a minute before the break, putting Killie into 2nd at the time.
Highlights.
St. Johnstone 2 - 0 St. Mirren
I don’t know if I was the only Scottish child who assumed this match had to be some kind of derby, based purely off the teams’ names. St Mirren’s last point came against Celtic less than halfway through September, and I really can’t help but feel sorry for Oran Kearney, having made the decision to begin his full-time management career at such a disaster of a club.
St Johnstone were incredibly wasteful, with Tony Watt missing two *Iain Dowie voice* gilt-edged chances, before he and Liam Craig missed a further two penalties, book-ended by goals from David Wotherspoon and Matty Kennedy.
No shots on target for St. Mirren.
Highlights.

Sunday 28/10/18

Scottish League Cup

Heart of Midlothian 0 - 3 Celtic
Having been denied the Hampden Royal Rumble after a last-minute allusion to competence by the SFA, the first of the Scottish League Cup semi-finals kicked-off at Murrayfield between the top-two teams in the country.
Stealing the limelight as this fixture opened up was 36 year-old Hearts striker Steven MacLean. Having made it clear that he “hoped Celtic got pumped” by RB Leipzig midweek, MacLean became the central figure in an incident now affectionately referred to by the BBC as “Bawsgate.”
Eboué Kouassi was the victim of the Hearts captain’s indiscretion, with MacLean having assumed the armband after Steven Naismith had to leave the pitch due to injury, another serious injury-shaped dent in the Hearts title charge.
Celtic broke the deadlock through Scott Sinclair, before James Forrest laid claim to a goal that could well have been Ryan Christie’s. No doubt about Christie being given the third, mind. Some hit.
Celtic now storm into the first of this season's finals as they look to complete the treble-treble, or the 'treble', if you will.
Extensive highlights, with commentary, here.
Aberdeen 1 - 0 Rangers
Last time I posted one of these I went on a 1000 word rant about Aberdeen, and I have to say the temptation to write another thousand words here is very strong indeed, although this time just to bam the Rangers up a bit.
No strangers to the big occasions, Rangers fans (if they get let into the stadium) know how to create an intimidating atmosphere, and that they did by taking up all of the West Stand with the most honking display you’re ever likely to see.
Alan McGregor left one on Gary Mackay-Steven after play had stopped, in just about the only first-half action in the Rangers box, but escaped again without any acknowledgement by the referee.
Despite Rangers demanding the Lion’s share of possession for the entirety of the match, when the inevitable goal did come, it was thanks to the nephew of iconic Rangers captain Barry Ferguson, Lewis, who happens to be an Aberdeen player.
Whilst Umar Sadiq opted to dive instead of actually being tackled for the penalty that would level things, Rangers continued to dominate without really doing much, and so Ferguson’s goal sent Aberdeen through. There aren’t many petty little things like that which could bring so much joy to an Aberdeen fan, but the official twitter proclaiming that “We Are The People, who are heading to the final” did come quite close.
Nothing more to say that hasn’t already been said on Shay Logan’s snapchat story.
Again, extensive highlights with commentary here.

Wednesday 31/10/18

Scottish Premiership

Heart of Midlothian 0 - 0 Hibernian
Whilst Rangers fans should be condemned for lobbing all sorts of coins and pyrotechnics at the Aberdeen support on Sunday, the real story of Scottish Football Fan Trouble (All Rights Reserved) comes from the Edinburgh Derby.
I’d like to begin by saying that I could have put my house on this being a 0-0 and sat pretty comfortably, knowing that Craig Levein would churn out the 4-6-0 formation immortalised by both him & Vicente Del Bosque; but that very nearly wasn’t the case.
Florian Kamberi was sent off for Hibs after a reckless 50-50 with Garuccio, and after an exciting game full of chances, Clévid Dikamona had the ball in the back of the net for Hearts in the 91st minute, only to see his header ruled out for offside. As Hibs manager Neil Lennon rather flamboyantly told the Tynecastle crowd to sit back down, he was hit by a coin. This followed a Hibs fan punching Hearts keeper Zdeněk Zlámal in the face, and other extremely disgraceful behaviour from the Hearts faithful.
The whole debacle led to a joint statement from the two clubs, throwing the entire Scottish Statement League into disrepute, and a genuinely well-written post by Zlámal which served as a less distracting condemnation.
All the drama you could ask for in a derby, minus any goals.
Highlights here.
Rangers 1 - 1 Kilmarnock
Despite Rangers having lost the Ginger Ramos, this match went down exactly the same way as the corresponding fixture of last year. An increasingly scrutinised Rangers manager, having dropped 12 points in 10 games and lost the League Cup semi-final, is held by a Kilmarnock equaliser at home. I’m not the one who noticed this, by the way.
That result saw Pedro Caixinha sacked, although it probably helps Gerrard’s case that he didn’t bomb out of the Europa League in a qualifying round against Progres Niederkorn.
Recent results have not been stellar though, and after an insipid performance against Spartak and the impotent showing against Aberdeen, Gerrard has pointed out that goals are going to need to come from somewhere other than Alfredo Morelos this season, in no uncertain terms.
His 9th-min goal was cancelled out 6 minutes later by Greg Stewart, who is in some form. First points dropped by Rangers at Ibrox this season.
Highlights.
Livingston 0 - 1 St. Johnstone
If I’m not mistaken then Livi went into this match with the best defensive record in the division, which speaks for their incredible start to the season.
However it only took Matty Kennedy 5 minutes to open the scoring, and that was enough to end an 8-match unbeaten run for the hosts.
Highlights.
Aberdeen 3 - 0 Hamilton Academical
Aberdeen will have been hopeful that the semi-final result would be the catalyst that gets their season going, after a horrible opening 9 games.
Hamilton’s defensive shape proved difficult for the Dons to bypass, with Scott McKenna and Mikey Devlin singlehandedly taking a stab at the Spanish passing record. It took a few moments of inspiration for Aberdeen to score, captain Graeme Shinnie trading his usual yellow card for a very nicely taken finish, before James Wilson scored the pick of the goals with a 25-yard bullet. Having decided to stop passing to centre-back partner Scott McKenna, Mikey Devlin scored from a good 30-yards after Gary Woods fumbled. Woods then went on to save a Shay Logan shot which was considerably more difficult to deal with, so fair play.
The cherry on the icing on the cake for Aberdeen was Hamilton captain Dougie Imrie, who had cut a frustrated figure for the whole game, being sent-off in the 92nd minute, and in doing so becoming the second Hamilton player in as many matches to be sent-off in added time. Have to feel that’s a bit frustrating for Martin Canning.
3 sweet goals and one shit tackle available for your enjoyment here.
St Mirren 0 - 2 Motherwell
If you just want to watch the highlights of this game, look no further than this Motherwell fan’s pitch-invasion.
I’m seriously running out of words to describe this St Mirren team, so I’ll just lift the words of the BBC match report and go for “woeful.” Motherwell haven’t been stellar either, but this result ended a run of 5 games without a win for them, whilst extending St Mirren’s run to 10. Yikes.
Outside-the-box goals from David Turnbull and Chris Cadden either side of half-time did the trick, before Ryan Flynn got himself deservedly sent-off.
Highlights.
Dundee 0 - 5 Celtic
Not to be outdone, Dundee. It seems to be clear that Celtic are back to their best, although there’s no chance they’d be racking up this kinda scoreline against top-of-the-table opposition, cough cough.
Rogic, Sinclair, Forrest and Edouard had it at 4-0 before halftime, and Dundee fans were spotted leaving in the 48th minute as Ryan Christie made it 5. If you believe any of the prestigious redtop tabloid newspapers, they were fleeing from the troublesome Celtic crowd, but if you’ve been to many football matches you’ll understand that they were probably leaving because they were getting absolutely turned over.
Daniel Arzani made his debut for Celtic, and as such is out for several months having sustained a knee-injury. Dundee boasted an aggregate score of 0-12 after their first 3 games under Jim McIntyre. New manager bounce.
Highlights, with some great goals.

Saturday 03/11/18

Scottish Premiership

St. Mirren 0 - 2 Rangers
I’m going to leave this very open to your interpretation, but it took until the 80th minute for a wayward Daniel Candeias cross to find the back of the net for Rangers.
The winger was then sent-off ridiculously by the Mike Dean of Scottish Football, Willie Collum, after being involved in a near-deadly brawl with the Anton Ferdinand. This wasn’t before Alfredo Morelos had tied the result up, and, sticking with the theme of the week, he had a coin thrown at him whilst he was celebrating.
7 defeats now, in a row, for a St Mirren team that were not without their chances.
Highlights.
Celtic 5 - 0 Heart of Midlothian
Oh dear.
I do have to feel sorry for Hearts because they are without Naismith, Souttar, Berra, and Ikpeazu - the first 4 people I would name if you asked me to list the Hearts squad; but as the 1st-placed team in the division, you would hope for a better showing.
Meanwhile I don’t even think it’s fair to say Celtic are back up and running, their domestic form is simply unbelievable. 20 goals in their last 4 league games after only scoring 7 in the first 7. Name a more iconic turnaround.
Edouard scored twice, commanding the respect of the opposition, and was joined by Leicester-loanee Filip Benkovic, James Forrest, and Ryan Christie on the scoresheet.
Wonder if Steven MacLean has the right word to describe how heavily Hearts have been defeated here?
Highlights.
Hamilton Academical 1 - 0 Livingston
If you’re a Hamilton fan and couldn’t make it to the second El Plastico of the season, you could rest assured in the knowledge that the club’s twitter will provide an authentic match-day experience. It’s as if you’re there.
In truth there wasn’t much to be missed. Mason Bloomfield scored only a minute after Mickel Miller was sent off in the 85th, and a second defeat in a row for Livingston means the team that occupied 2nd place earlier in the season now fall to 8th.
Highlights.
Hibernian 0 - 1 St. Johnstone
It’s a weekend of late goals, and, despite Adam Bogdan saving a penalty, Hibs suffered their first defeat at Easter Road in 2018 thanks to a 90th minute header from Joe Shaughnessy.
It’s certainly not all Sunshine on Leith just now (very sorry, I’m tired and have been writing this for some hours,) with talk floating that Neil Lennon may walk from the Hibs job on account of the abuse he suffers in Scotland. It’s inappropriate to joke there - despite Lennon being the perfect counterpart to Levein in the Edinburgh rivalry, and in my view a very necessary character in the league, I struggle to think of any active professional in British football who is on the receiving end of as much abuse. Couldn’t blame him for walking, certainly hope that he doesn’t.
Highlights.
Motherwell 1 - 0 Dundee
Still with us? This was Motherwell’s first home win of the season, and yet again they can thank a Turnbull banger. They still look a distance from the team that finished second in the Betfred and Scottish Cups to Celtic, but this win briefly put them within 4 points of the Aberdeen side that finished second in the league.
I really do have nothing else to say about Dundee.
Highlights.

Sunday 04/11/18

Scottish Premiership

Kilmarnock 1 - 2 Aberdeen
I don’t even know if it would be exaggerating to say that the first 45 minutes of this match are some of the worst Aberdeen have played in recent memory. Then again, today does mark 8 years since Celtic won 9-0 against Mark McGhee’s team, so perhaps a reality check is in order.
As I sat down to start this writeup yesterday, Aberdeen had not yet had a shot, whilst Killie had mustered 7. I was also exceptionally angry, having been subjected to Kris Boyd’s admittedly hilarious celebration in front of the away fans. If you’re not able to view Twitter, imagine if Antoine Griezmann was yer da, and he’d just smashed a word-record for steak-bake consumption. The kind of thing he might do then. Picture it.
Goading the opposition fans, despite being very in vogue, is the kind of thing you want to make sure you can back-up with a win, and whilst Killie may have looked like absolutely certain winners, they were completely terrible too.
Aberdeen got a Brucey bonus in the 73rd as Anderson diverted McGinn’s shot past MacDonald, and whilst no fans would have complained about a point given their performance, Lewis ‘the absolute boy’ Ferguson made it 1-2 in the 86th minute, wrong-footing MacDonald with his free-kick.
Highlights!
Phew, that was a lot to get through. Now if you’ll excuse me I have to manually create an updated Premiership table.

Scottish Championship

Sat 03/11/18 Greenock Morton 5 - 1 Partick Thistle
Relatively-newly-appointed Partick Thistle manager Gary Caldwell felt the need to weigh in on the volley of abuse sent towards Neil Lennon by suggesting that the Hibs manager “brings it on himself,” so it seems appropriate to take a moment to breathe in this result, knowing that he was fully in charge of the team on the receiving end of this scoreline. Morton literally lit-up their home ground so much that the lights exploded.
Other notable scorelines from the past two weeks include wannabe pop-star and friend of Gok Wan Liam Fontaine’s Ross County beating this very same Morton team 5-0, Dumbarton’s 4-0 win over East Fife in their first game under new manager Jim Duffy the Vampire Slayer, and it finished all-square in the eagerly-anticipated Highland Derby. Finally, for fans of Peep Show, the match between Falkirk and Queen of the South involved David Mitchell saving a Dobbie penalty.

[Story]Auldhouse FC, from Scottish League 2 to Champions of Europe or; How I learned to love the 4-4-2 and embrace the Inverted Winger.

Strap in lads this is a long one. Get rid of your screenshot of the Colombian wonderkid you fancy, put the old fella back in your pants and settle in for a nice long story about a fictional reality I’m more invested in than your girlfriend is in Love Island.
This is the story of how I took my created team "Auldhouse Football Club" from the Scottish League 2 to Champions League winners in the space of 10 seasons. A little background, I had previously attempted making teams in the editor but I had always half arsed it and gave up fairly quickly into the save, similar to my attempts to turn my Peep Show slash fiction into a working screenplay. This time I did it properly though, I made a badge, I made kits, but sadly found out you can’t edit the club mascot so abandoned my Alex Salmond themed plushie.
I decided I would start the club in the Scottish League 2 and based the club in my local park in Glasgow. Newlands Park stadium started out as a 50,000 all seater stadium although would later be expanded by the board to 62,648 to make it the largest stadium in Scotland. The RP I created was a disgruntled billionaire (aren’t they all) decided to break the domination of “The Old Firm” and bring about the era of “The Auld Firm” so pumped more money into the team than skag Pete Doherty pumps into his bumole.
With 200 million in the bank and enough good boyfriend stock saved up to ignore the missus for a few months I set off on my goal to take this team of McDonalds store room staff rejects to the Champions League trophy and put Scotland back on the footballing map much to Dave Murray’s chagrin.

Team of the Year
I begin my first season choosing to just generate regens to create the team. As I had given the team a £200 million transfer kitty I thought it only fair for balance to start with younger lads and only improve the team in the game with transfers and development. As I had given the team top facilities I was able to generate some great players who stayed with the team for a number seasons. Some of these early standouts included the one-time record goal scorer Martin Barbour, a dependable AM in Ken McLaren, first team LB for a good number of years Will Moses and last but certainly not least the clubs current record appearance holder with 256 league appearances and more Glaswegian fanny seen to than a Govan gynaecologist – Barry Edward. Barry is the only player still currently in the squad from the first season and with his 71 caps for Scotland to go along with his massive trophy cabinet is surely be the most successful Scottish player since Derek Riordan. I quickly realised that despite my huge war chest and max reputation I could not attract any special players to come play in League 2 despite glamour ties such as Montrose and Forfar so settled on a handful of talented British youngsters including Fraser Murray, Lee Muirhead and Jack Grimmer who went on to be serviceable squad players. The stand out player I bought would be RW Declan McDaid from Ayr who went on to be player of the season and is still a fan favourite despite not spending too long at the club. Unsurprisingly I romped the league with 90 goals scored, 24 against and 92 points overall. My first foray in the Scottish Cup was a shock as I made it all the way to the final but sadly got beat 2-1 by Hibs. League cup was not so great as I got put out in the first-round group stage but like you told yourself after your high school sweetheart broke up with you, “I wasn’t even bothered anyway”. I’m still not sure to this day what exactly the Irn Bru cup is apart from a guaranteed trophy for my U20 team these days but suffice to say I got to the semi-final. Overall it was a job well done but bigger challengers would surely lie ahead in the tougher league 1…

It turns out League 1 was fairly easy. 116 GF, 29 GA and finishing on 99 points the rapid rise up the Scottish footballing pyramid was proving easier that your sister after 4 wkds. The Scottish cup ended up in defeat against Auldhouse’s most competitive(shocking) rivals, Celtic. This would be the first of many tricky encounters with the hoops over the decade but their dominance would not last forever like the USSR or institutional racism. The Auldies dominance of the League cup however was in full swing with a 2nd round exit this year, a vast improvement on the year before. Mickey mouse cup. Apparently, I also won the Glen’s Vodka Irn Bru Cup. The scenes! Transfer wise I was able to stretch my (gout ridden) legs a bit more with total spent on players being £5.75m. Standouts from the bunch included Mauro Junior, a Brazilian AM, Ryan Christie from Celtic who did good things for the club, Lewis Vaughan from Raith who dominated the left wing and one of my biggest bargains, Scott Tough for 9.5k from Alloa who turned into a 5-star staring RB and perennial Scottish national team player. Best players of the season were the front trio of Lewis Vaugan, Islam Feruz and Siriki Dembele who scored more than Michael Jackson at Neverland. Again, I stressed to the lads to not get complacent as we headed in to the championship as surely now we were about to face some real competition.

Team of the Year
This was the season we arrived as a new force in Scottish football. We won every competition we entered. The squad was given a massive overhaul as I finally seemed able to attract some seriously talented youngsters from around the world and I splashed out on what would be the clubs record transfer for 7+ years. The Championship was won at a canter with 97 points accumulated. Won the Scottish Cup for the 1st of the 8 times we have won the cup beating Rangers (arch rivals/whipping boys) and Celtic on the way to the Trophy. We still didn’t care about the league cup but won it just for something to do. Irn-Bru decided to just give us the cup at the start of the season and save everyone else the trouble of losing to us. Winning the cup also meant we would play in Europe for the first time as we qualified for the Europa League for the first time. The boys dreamed of playing Bate Borisov away on a Tuesday night just like their papas had told them about. As I said, transfers were kicked up a notch this season. £99m spent overall which was half my budget at the time which had not been added to due to the tiny sums offered out for winning trophies. Immediately you are thinking £65m for Phil Foden (55 upfront, 10 in add ons)? To which I say, man love is a very complex and nuanced subject. Being starved of any real activity the 1st 2 seasons this was more what I had imagined when giving the team £200m to spend. I wanted my world class wonderkids and no one could stop me (unless you are called financial fair play, more on that later) A lot of these players were first team members of the squad for a long time, winning plenty of trophies in the meantime. Pedro Chirivella was a Spanish deep lying playmaker with lots of style, Lautaro Lopez was one in a long line of excellent South American CB’s this great club has had, Jack Harrison and Bersant Celina from Man City went straight into the starting line-up as left and right inside forwards and Kamil Grabara held the no 1 Jersey for the season. Special mention here goes to a player bought in the Jan transfer window, Karamoko Conde. A club legend who is easily one of the clubs most talented players ever. Now starting up front for Bayern Munich and coming runner up in world footballer of the year to another player we will come on to, I’ll always have a place in my heart for the French condom. Many of the new signings went straight into the best 11 but special mention goes to Auldhouse lad Martin Barbour for scoring 39 goals in 37 appearances and the American Jack Harrison who racked up 21 assists and a 7.62 avg rating across the season whilst nearly allowing the nation to forgive the USA for giving the world the Tangerine Temper Tantrum. Finally, the club were into the world wide renowned league The Ladbrokes Premiership, watched by over 17 fans every weekend. The first 3 seasons climbing the lower leagues were fond times for the club’s fans as they ate salmonella ridden food in stadiums where one stand was mainly hedgerow but the ultimate test now lay on the horizon, could they survive in the world toughest top flight?

Turned out the premiership was not as big a challenge as it seemed. Actually, if I’m being honest this was the first season the team were properly tested. Although we won the league it was only by 1 point and it was from Celtic dropping points in the final old firm game. Celtic did get some revenge by beating me 2-0 in the League cup final. Scottish Cup was business as usual beating Hamilton 4-0 in the final. The big disappointment of the season was the Euro Cup (Europa League). The first foray into Europe for the lads came in the 3rd qualifying round where we were unlucky to draw Tottenham (who would go on to be somewhat of a European rival for us). We drew 2-2 at Newlands park but sadly got beat 2-1 away. Overall, I was not too disappointed as I knew they were a much better side who should be beating us and really we were hard done by the draw. Another season of heavy transfer spending this season although I tried to spread the money over more players instead of spunking it up the wall on one. This was also the first season that anyone of any significance left the club. Mauro Junior, Jack Grimmer and Adam King left the club having done their job of helping us move up the leagues but now not up to the first team standard. Incomings again included several club legends. Luciano Fontana is the starting RB to this day and despite Chelsea trying to sign him every window the guy is a legend. Diego Lainez and Patrick Roberts (on a free) have been great wingers for the club up to present day. They have not always been 1st team but the kind of useful idiots team players who you can convince they don’t need too much playing time. Emmanuel Baruwa replaced Grabara as the no.1 and did a great job in goals for a number of years. Roland Sallai was the backup AM to Phil Foden for a long time and scored a lot of important goals in his time with us. Carles Alena was a brilliant CM but sadly Bayern Munich pinched him off me the next season so did not get the best out of him. Last but not least is a man who I love more than most real-life people. He is the regen you all wish you could tell your work colleagues about but are scared of being publicly ostracised. Carlos Villalba was signed from Rosario for 9.5m which in hindsight was a bargain. Initially loaned back to Rosario for a season he has gone on to be the clubs greatest ever player, record goal scorer and all-round boner inducing striker. “Villy” has gone on to win World Player of the Year 3 times to go along with a horde of other awards. Basically, he is to Auldhouse what Charlie Sheen is to cocaine dealers. Best players from that season included Conde scoring 31 goals, Patrick Roberts with 19 goals and 7.49 rating along with the two CB’s Lopez and Adarabioyo. So, after the boys tasting their first real test at the club I was certain we had a solid foundation to go on and dominate domestic football whilst finally getting a chance to test the lads in the worlds greatest competition besides the British Indoor Bowls Championship, The Champions League. Could the money spent so far payoff against Europe’s elite teams…

I know what you are thinking, but apparently there isn’t an option in the game to send anthrax to Uefa’s offices. The good train lollypop took a very significant detour this season. Firstly, I found out you can’t pay £200 million + in transfer fees with an income similar to your local pound shop branch and not fall afoul of FFP. I had known from the season previously that I was not going to pass FFP and I really had no idea how I was going get back into Europe. I had made a loss of about £150 million more than I was allowed to so I seriously considered abandoning the save. I decided to soldier on hoping for a miracle but subsequently I only bought one player whilst selling a host of others. The game punished me for this domestically. Celtic improved whilst I stood still so whilst they did get over 100 points in the league I was not close enough to them finishing 10 points back. Both the cup finals also ended in defeat to Celtic giving them the domestic treble. Whilst this was by far my worst season credit did go to Celtic for an amazing year. This was the last year Brendan Rodgers managed them before being poached by Real Madrid. As I said transfers were mostly outgoings this season for obvious reasons. The one player I signed for the 1st team has went on to be a great servant for the club. CB Goran Vasiljevic is still a starting CB for me and is perpetually coveted by the Special Wun at Man U. My profanity laden tirades in the media are yet to put Mourinho off. I recouped nearly £40m in sales mostly made up by aforementioned sale of Carles Alena to Bayern which I really didn’t want to do but pressure from the player and the finances meant I did not really have a choice. Thankfully most of the other sales were mostly 2nd and 3rd choice options at their position and I sold quite a few of the academy lads who would never be good enough for me but have gone on to be good players in SPFL. Despite the poor results there were a lot of great seasons from some players. Villalba’s first season upfront saw him score a decent 26 goals. The 3 behind the striker all had great seasons with particular praise going to the Mexican Diego Lainez who scored as nearly as many as he assisted in his one of his best seasons for the club. Auldhouse lad Barry “bazza” Edwards “eddy” was the standout defender. This was when I started trying to balance having 3 great strikers in Villalba, Conde and Barbour which was very tricky with a 1 striker system. Later on, you will see I had to abandon this to keep them happy. So, it’s fair to say this was a low point for the club. I had to reign in what I expected to be guaranteed domestic excellence and wonder if I would ever get the chance to achieve my original goal of winning the Champs League…

Let’s get the big question out of the way. This game made me seriously reconsider my atheism and whether attempting to copulate with my pc was a good idea. So essentially at the end of the previous season when getting the usual annual reports on tax bills and sponsorship deals I got an email that said the club had signed a new sponsorship deal worth £145m???? I have never had this happen before in the game and I would love to know if anyone else has ever had this. I did have my owner set to Sugar Daddy but I still to this day have no idea how this happened. It meant I now had made just enough profit over the season to pass the FFP rules. After several cartwheels and half a bottle of vodka I set about having a decent attempt at the Europe’s top competition and boy did I. Getting to the final on the first attempt I will gladly accept is some of the greatest luck I have had in the years playing this game. After finishing 2nd in the group behind Liverpool but in front of Barcelona! (who on a side note have not really done much in my save) and Leverkusen I would have already been happy with going that far. You can see here the rest of the competition where I beat Chelsea, PSG and Bayern on the way to getting beat in the final by Man City. I really could not be too disappointed at the defeat as I got so much further than I expected. In the league I was much better this season although I feel that had as much to do with Rogers leaving Celtic from which they have never been the same challenge again. Won the Scottish cup and was beat in the final of the always pesky League Cup. Did not spend a lot on transfers as I was still short of money at this point but the 4 players I did sign are still in the 1st team to this day. Ramirez, Lefebvre and Matsipa became the main CM rotation after I let the others go. Saracchi is a complete wing back who still plays for the team today. Significant departures were Jack Harrison after requesting a transfer and Academy graduate and record goal scorer Martin Barbour after complaining about playing time. Most other sales were to get a positive cashflow going. Usual suspects for the best 11 including 36 goals for Villalba, both wingers having great seasons again and Conde having a great avg rating as the second striker. Winning the champions league was very nearly achieved sooner than expected so from here on out I expected nothing less than to win it within the coming seasons if not straight away. With further investment in the club I’d look to do just that…

This was the first in a pattern repeated for many seasons. Domestic Treble – Knocked out in later stages of champions league. This section of the story I have titled “A tribute to Peter Jackson’s Hobbit Trilogy” i.e. repetitive and not much happens. Champions League started well finishing 2nd in the group to eventual winners Juventus and beating out old foes Tottenham and Leverkusen to the loser spots. After a famous 5-3 victory against Real Madrid in the first knockout round I was beaten by everyone’s favourite OP team, Mourinho’s United. You can see the tree here. Not disheartened the lads rallied to win the domestic treble although only beating Celtic by 3 points after a frustrating number of draws. The purse strings were loosened again this season after the previous seasons European money however of all the players purchased this season the best was the free transfer of German winger Mikulic, a 5-star player who starts every big game. Sadly, most of the other big signings did not stay at the club for too long after being pinched by some bigger teams. This was also the season I finally had enough cash to dip into the under 18 markets with more glee than Gary Glitter’s hard drive. I started heavily scouting the regens and signing 15 and 16-year olds to then come to the club when they turn 18. A lot of these players are now in my youth ranks with a few with real potential to become great players. Only one outgoing player but for £25m. Celina had been a great servant for the club but now 3rd in the pecking order on the RW and getting an offer that high was impossible to refuse. Nearly a goal a game saw Conde beat Villalba into the best 11 for the season despite less appearances. Patrick Roberts again had an excellent season with avg rating of 7.88. Overall the new signings also had good years. Not much to say about this season as really the minimum I was expecting at this point. I just hoped I could progress in Europe next year…

Déjà vu this season with the exact same result on paper. Finished second again in the group stages after again coming up against Tottenham although they bettered me this time. Knockout stages here. Decent ties against Roma then saw me frustratingly go out on penalties to Chelsea. I have seen others say penalties are tough in this version of FM and I agree. My two world class strikers have less than 10 on penalties and I have had to sign a player recently specifically to have a penalty taker with a decent bit of talent. League was much more straight forward, winning by 21 points. You are bored of hearing about the cups now aren’t you? A great deal of activity in and out this season. I sold LW Renato Augusto when I realised I could buy Lois De Vos who was arguably the best LW in the game at that point with amazing stats. £41m was by far the most I had spent on a player since Phil Foden and I was very happy with the result. Brasil went straight into the starting 11 at CB and I uncovered a real gem in Sarue who plays as the deep lying playmaker with defensive duties in the current starting 11. The other significant departure was CB Lopez who was a great servant but demanded to leave when Monaco approached to sign him. Most other singings were youngsters. Improving every year, Villalba scored better than a goal a game for 43 in total. Other standouts were Lainez at LW, Lefebvre at CM and Vasilevic at CB. And so, waking up to Sonny and Cher in Punxsutawney I somehow had to think how I would escape this endless mediocre loop of European quarter finals…

Time to drive of the cliff. I actually won the group this year with a perfect 6 for 6 record beating out, you guessed it, Tottenham into 2nd place. Sadly, the knockout round went as planned getting beat by a very good Bayern side 4-1 on aggregate. I started to think I might just not have what it takes. I needed a Rocky style montage to save me from this hell. I used Sam and the Womp instead of Eye of the Tiger though. League was won by 20 points again. I didn’t even look up who I beat in the cups. Before going to transfers here I should talk about something I haven’t really mentioned up to this point. Are you aware of our lord and saviour Jesus Christ? No seriously, I know you know who Scott Brown is so I’ll move on to my actual discussion which is tactics. Up until this point I had been playing with the exact same formation since league two which was some variation on this. It was with this season and my repeated frustration I started to experiment with some different tactics to combat the threats in Europe. These included swapping the AM for a DM in a more defensive set up and another of playing both Conde and Villalba up front together to try to get my 11 best players on the park at the same time. With that in mind I had to go buy a DM as I had no players who could play the role. I bought talented but young Anchor Man Alfredo Santa Maria from River Plate thinking that he would be happy with the minimal playing time being that I would have no use for him in league. I also bought a new AM in Castillo as I thought long time servants Foden and Sallai were deteriorating. I raked in a record transfer income of £95m but to be honest I regret selling some of these players. Becerra and Basioli are still top players in the game and in hindsight I could have tried to hold on to them more despite them moaning about going to play in a bigger league. I also let go Scottish RB Scott Tough for £10m after originally signing him for an astronomical £9.5k. I really needed to break this cycle now. If I did not get past the quarters this season the PC would be going to the local Oxfam…

Sadly, the charity shop around the corner did not get a significant IT upgrade but the lads still fell short for a fourth year in row. I have played this game since FM13 and I can honestly say getting beat on penalties in the semi-final against Bayern was the most heart-breaking defeat I have had in this game. After a phenomenal season from almost every player I thought for sure this was going to be the year. Losing 3-0 away only to score 3 goals at home to take it to extra time I watched as we missed chance after chance in extra time and then knew it was over as soon as it went to pens. I did not start the next season for a good couple of weeks after this game I was so gutted. Then I remembered like all those brave neckbeards before me I had to continue playing a game in a fictional reality for real world validation. League was won by 30 points this time with only 1 defeat. Cups were also played. Major transfer of this season was the replacing of No.1 Emmanuel Baruwa after a £25m bid from Juventus. I had had my eye on young Dutchman Van Der Pluijm as probably the best young keeper in the game so when I realised I could sign him for effectively £3.5m I went for it. I missed “barry” in between the sticks but Van the Man has proved a worthy successor. More talented young guys came in this season having been bought in previous seasons. The standouts being Argentinian Wonderkid Complete Forward Angel Bernardi and my current starting AM Danilo. A few other fan favourites went out the door this season in Phil Foden and Roland Sallai. I have a soft spot for both these guys having been with the team since the Championship days but sadly with declining performances and me playing an AM less and less I decided to let them go get first team play elsewhere. Despite our great love affair, I would never again get to Phil Foden. Interesting note, I spend exactly how much I took in from this window in £64m. It’s really hard to pick out the best players from this year as you can see from the best 11, almost every position had a great player. Van Der Pluijm got off to a great start in goals, the back 4 all had excellent ratings including stalwart captain Barry Edwards. Great showings from all 4 CM rotations and wonderful seasons from the 4 wingers with special praise going to club legend Lainez with 7.97 rating. The now two back up strikers of Conde and new boy Bernardi both had what would normally be player of the season performances with averages over 7.85 but no one gets the Auldies fans dicks quite as hard as the Argentinian Annihilator Carlos Villalba with a ridiculous 59 goals and 8.01 avg rating earning him World Player of the year awards and the Golden Boot. Not bad for a player in the Scottish Premiership. A tough off season was now ahead of me. Did I stick with the team that was so close or did I try to change things to secure that elusive Champions League Trophy. Well for the mathematically challenged amongst you I headed into my 10th season which if you have been paying attention (or more likely slipped into a long reddit post based coma) can only mean…

YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAASSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSASAS. I fucking did it. Those beautiful amazing lads. They bloody did it. LOOK AT THAT. That’s right we won the Betfred Cup again! No, seriously I stayed up to 1:40 am on a work night to play that final and I was so stupidly chuffed to finally achieve my goal. I have played countless saves of this manager sim and I can easily say I have never had such an emotional investment as I have had in this team and this victory sealed a save that I will remember until my next blackout. Beating PSG, Juventus and Chelsea on the way to the final to play yes you guessed it, (come on lads its) Tottenham Hotspur. Two goals from God’s servant on earth Villalba put this club into the history books. To answer my previous question, I decided to make some quite brutal changes risking the harmony of the squad by selling some very big players along with a totally new tactical system to get the best out of the team. I set the team up with this 4-4-2 with generally that starting line-up apart from a few changes throughout the season based on form. I have never used a 4-4-2 for any length of time in any FM game as far as I can remember but a few things made me change. Firstly, I noticed most of the teams I was playing in the later stages of the CL were using some variation on it so it must have had some advantages. Secondly, I decided to replace De Vos with Kai Ginczek at LW breaking my transfer record for the German wonderkid at £66m. Ridiculously talented but was only natural as an inverted winger further down the pitch. I decided to go all in on him and moved Mikulic back from the front line on the right-hand side which he was more comfortable with anyway so already improving my best possible 11. I decided to embrace the two-striker system and bought Advanced Forward Hakan Oygur from Man City to play alongside Villalba with Bernardi backing them up. He also had 15 pen taking finally meaning I had someone to rely on to take pens regularly. Overall this system worked great, allowing me to score a bag full of goals but more importantly be more solid at the back as I was not pushing so many guys forward. Other signings included a Portuguese wonderkid T. Correia who I was able to get on a free and had some great games off the bench and Reynaldo Cesar who was one of the starting CB’s with a potential rating of 4.5 stars. More significant were the players who left the club. A record income from player sales of £144m saw heavy hitters of Mario Brasil, Castillo and De Vos leave ultimately not because they were bad but that I though I could get better and I did. It was with great sadness though I said goodbye to someone who in spite of me saying it about 40 players so far truly is a club legend, Karamoko Conde. 158 League goals and countless lady’s underwear ruined from excessive fan splooshing he left after requesting to challenge for the Champions League. Despite the irony, I still love the guy.
And so, children, my mission was over. What does the future hold for the team that went from Scottish League two to the best in the world? Next season we will try to win all 6 competitions we enter including the Club World Cup and the Super Cup. I have some exceptional youngsters waiting to join the team who I hope to bring along to become club legends in their own right. I would also like to expand the stadium and even have it named after me. I have already decided I will play the save until Barry Edwards retires as I feel that will be the sun setting on a golden generation. Overall, I learned I have far too much time on my hands and it’s not wise to remote access your home pc when I should be working to play FM. Hope you all enjoyed reading this epic tome and if you have any questions or want to see any screen shots let me know. I have added some more screen shots below for your perusal.

Brazil vs Uruguay odds, preview and predictions

Friday 25/03/2016, 23:15, World Cup Qualifiers Brazil vs Uruguay Preview Brazil and Uruguay won the last two home games by 3-0, while scoring just one goal in the previous match played on the road. The similarities don't stop here, as the two teams have performed equally well in front of their fans, while struggling away. Brazil has home pitch advantage, which explains why bookmakers are so confident in their ability to win the match. Brazil vs Uruguay Odds At Bet3000 Brazil 1.45, Draw 3.85, Uruguay 6.80 Brazil vs Uruguay Tips Brazil play in front of its fans and will not settle for one point, because they need to improve their qualification campaign. The inability to defend narrow margin leads is well known and luckily for the host, they have the offensive players needed to go for lopsided victories. Their best strikers are fit to play and the featuring the starting formation, thus giving them an excellent opportunity to beat Uruguay. Their convincing victory over Chile was reassuring and confirmed their status as one of the best teams from South America. Games against room while however were always difficult because the opponents didn't hesitate to play aggressive football regardless of venue. Uruguay brings its heavy guns to Brazil this Friday, with both Cavani and Suarez being in superb form and well capable of scoring against the host. The former is a reliable player for PSG, while Suarez is the most prolific striker for Barcelona. This speaks volumes about his quality, since he has scored more goals than both Messi and Neymar. This match will be an interesting you are between the top Brazilian and Uruguay strikers, as they've done a brilliant job for Barcelona throughout the season. They know each other very well and can put this experience to good use when they lock horns, and the match should be delightful to watch. Key Facts Brazil and Uruguay are two of the best scoring South American teams, with fantastic offensives. Home pitch advantage has been extremely important for both teams, as they won the vast majority of games at home. Brazil vs Uruguay Prediction There is no point in betting on the outright winner, because Uruguay picked few points on the road, while Brazil is underpriced by bookmakers. It's much better to bet on more than 2.5 goals to be scored at odds of 1.85, odds currently offered by Betfred. The advantage of placing such a bet is that there is a good chance to lock in on profits well before the final whistle and lay back to enjoy the game. Bet: Over 2.5 goals @ 1.85 with Bet3000

KLOPP 'HAD TO GET' KARIUS REPLACEMENT

The memory of the Champions League final meant Liverpool were forced into finding Loris Karius' replacement, says Graeme Souness.
The Reds' current No 1 made two costly errors as Liverpool lost 3-1 to Real Madrid in May, although Karius was later found to be suffering from concussion after taking a knock from Sergio Ramos shortly before the opening goal.
Regardless, Souness told Sky Sports News those errors would come back to haunt the German had he started 2018/19 as first-choice and made another mistake.
Liverpool are on the verge of signing Roma goalkeeper Alisson after a £67m bid was accepted, with the Brazilian flying to England on Wednesday evening to undergo a medical in the next few days, according to Sky in Italy.
"I think as much as Jurgen would have wanted to be loyal and do right by the goalkeeper, he's got to go out and get another one," he said. "That's simply because if Karius was to make the same mistake, or a mistake in a big game, it'd be down to the manager not correcting that situation. It's obvious to everyone - look at what happened in the Champions League final. So if Klopp is out to get Alisson or another top goalkeeper, he's doing the right thing."

JOSE: DALOT OUT UNTIL SEPTEMBER

Jose Mourinho has confirmed new Manchester United signing Diogo Dalot will be out until September with a knee injury.
The 19-year-old defender joined United on a five-year deal from Porto last month for a fee of around £19m. Dalot injured his knee late last season for Porto and was pictured on crutches in Manchester.
He travelled on United's pre-season tour of the USA despite not being cleared to return to training but Mourinho is happy with how his recovery is progressing.
Mourinho said: "Dalot is injured; we knew that but we didn't want to lose him because of that. He is recovering really well. We think he can start training with the team when we go back to England. He will not be ready for the start of the season but we think he'll be ready for September."

‘THERE WILL BE RIVALS FOR GOLOVIN’

CSKA Moscow's president Evgeniy Giner has warned Chelsea that rival clubs will be looking to sign Aleksandr Golovin.
Chelsea have been linked with Golovin over the summer and in his introductory press conference, new manager Maurizio Sarri said he may be interested in adding some midfield quality to the squad.
In an interview with Russian site sport24, Giner said there is no deal between the clubs but it is likely Golovin will be with a new club soon.
"I believe that [he] can grow into a big star," he said. "I'm not sure that this can happen in the Russian championship. The level of the English Premier League or the championship of Spain is much higher.
"In order not to ruin [him], we must let him go. But we have no solution for today. When we receive an offer, we always try to negotiate openly. Indeed, we were visited by the vice-president of Monaco [Vadim Vasilyev] and he made a proposal for Golovin. If we talk about Chelsea, then there is no closed agreement with them. But the question of his transition will be decided, I think, in the next couple of days."

"I am much more of a pitch manager than a general manager. I am one of the few managers who is bored by the transfer market.
"I don’t want to talk about the transfer market and I’m not that interested in it. Our task as managers is growing the players that we have."

Sky sources understand Bournemouth are still negotiating with La Liga side Leganes over the transfer of left-back Diego Rico.

FULHAM RIVALLED FOR MBABU

Fulham face competition from FC Basel for Young Boys’ right back Kevin Mbabu, according to Sky sources.
The Cottagers want to sign the former Newcastle man but they’ve yet to make a formal bid and we understand Young Boys have rejected a £7m bid from Basel for the defender and value him at £10m.

06:51

PARLOUR PRAISES WILSHERE

Former Arsenal midfielder Ray Parlour has praised Jack Wilshere for not taking the easy option of signing a new deal at the club just to sit on the bench.
Parlour said: "Jack Wilshere has made a big decision and it was his to make. He met the manager and realised he might have been third or fourth in the pecking order. As a player who has missed so much football, he needs to play.
"I'm gutted that he's left because I would love to see him still in an Arsenal shirt, but I'm really pleased he's gone to a club to play football because there is nothing worse than training hard all week and then sitting in the stands.
"West Ham have got a very good signing there. We always look at his fitness record, but if he can stay fit we all know how good he is. That is what West Ham have to manage now."

PSA: Game highlights will be linked in fixture/result sidebar table

These will be Youtube links from the following channels:
One thing though is I'm not sure how regionally accessible the videos are. So if those of you that aren't based in Scotland can tell me whether or not you're able to access any of the Celtic videos on the mentioned channels, that'll be grand.
Also chose to use 'official channels' since there wont be a chance of the videos being taken down. Probably not so much an issue with the domestic games, but Euro ones can be a bitch.
Just click the link in the score column and enjoy.
Open to recommendations for alternative channels. This is just something I decided to throw in as I updated the tables.
