The new regulatory regime will come into force on 1 July 2021. The framework comprises strict measures on player protection guidelines and addiction prevention measures. Germany-facing online casino operators could find themselves off the hook for potential prosecution if they choose to immediately implement rules laid out in the new federal gambling treaty.
